How to check an IP address or domain

  1. Choose a target. Enter a public IPv4 or IPv6 address, or a domain such as example.com. Select “Use my IP” to check your current connection.
  2. Read the source and result. IP Lens shows the available location, network operator and ASN. A domain lookup uses an address returned by public DNS.
  3. Run a focused check. Open DNS, browser details or another tool below. Checks run when requested, and a failed request remains an error rather than a guessed result.

Use the DNS lookup for individual record types, or compare IPv4 and IPv6 exits. No account is required. Read the Privacy Policy for external requests and local storage.

What these network checks can tell you

Geolocation estimates a network's location, not a person's exact address. An ASN describes network ownership; it does not prove that an IP address is safe or unsafe. The reputation panel stays unassessed because no risk-data provider is configured.

Browser-based DNS and WebRTC results depend on browser permissions, network settings and provider availability. HTTP latency includes the request's overhead. These are useful starting points for troubleshooting, not a full security audit.

Before you run a check

Does the website automatically look up my IP?

No. Opening the website downloads its files from the host. Network diagnostic requests begin when you choose to run a check.

Does hiding my IP also remove it from reports?

No. Masking changes the on-screen display. Exported JSON can still contain full IP addresses and browser details; review it before sharing.

Can I use the tool after installing it as an app?

Yes. Installation adds a convenient standalone entry point where supported. Network diagnostics still need an internet connection.
